fell from the Terry Lumber Company's flume near the Afterthought mine Tuesday morning struck heavily cm the rocky ground twenty feet below and Is now lying seriously injured at his home at Round Mountain The lower half of his body and limbs are paralysed from the effects of the shock and It Is feared that Ms back Is broken -or spinal column seriously affected Storer and Harvey Klinger both of whom are in the employ of the Terry Lumber Company were walking along the runway on the flume Tuesday morning They were going towards the Afterthought mine Klinger was some distance behind Storer and was unable to assist his comrade Storer appeared to become dlszy and lost his balance Klinger saw the accident but was helpless Storer fell over and struck the ground with a groan When Klinger reached him he thought he was dead but placed tbe Injured man in a comfortable position and then got assistance Storer was carried to Round Mountain Bis brother Storer had started for Redding and was not at home Word was at once sent to Redding for Dr Bryant but he was so busy he could not get away and turned the case over to Dr Wallace who left for Round Mountain about 10 Otis Storer Is one of the best known young men in the Round Mountain region He is thirty-one years iff age Storer was engaged to be married to Miss Grace Hart daughter of Mrs Bouton of Round Mountain As readers of the Free Press will remember Miss Hart was crushed to death at her home on September 24th by a heavy tree falling upon her She had been assisting her cousin saw the tree and Storer came along and took her place at the saw She started for her home and the tree fell crushing the life out of her frail body before the eyes of her horrified fiance who was helpless to save her They were to have been married during the latter part of October Storer was almost erased over the terrible accident and since that time his nerves have not been as steady as they were Whether the thoughts of that other accident had any bearing on the present one may never be known It Is however a sad coincidence that one should have been killed and the other possibly fatally injured within a month of the day set for their wedding contemplation that will be attended to later DEATH OF LITTLE ONE Nineteen Months Daughter of Mr and Mrs Stuart Dies at Dairy Mabel fee nineteen months old daughter of Mr and Mrs William Stuart died at
